Restorations

aka Fillings
One of the most common procedures you can have at the dentist is a filling. Did you know that dental fillings restore the shape and function of a tooth that's been damaged through decay, wear or trauma? Isn't it amazing that we have the technology to restore our teeth in this way? It's why we like to educate our patients about all-things teeth.
We understand that arming you with all the facts helps you feel much more comfortable and at ease. Dental Republic only provides beautiful, mercury-free, white fillings made from composite resin or porcelain when extra reinforcement is needed. These are colour matched to make your teeth look and feel new again.

a practice that loves kids.., you better believe it
Establishing good oral hygiene habits from a young age is super important. And, it's our mission to make your child's visit a memorable experience in the very best way!  That's why we warmly encourage you to bring your kiddies into the practice when their first teeth appear or from about 6-12 months of age. It helps them to get familiar with the dental practice environment, the smells, and sounds.
And, of course, meet our amazing team. We believe that creating a positive and happy experience from an early age will help prevent dental anxiety in the future. Our practice is equipped with headphones, TV's, kids show bags, happy gas and sometimes there's a visit from our therapy pup, Dogtor Alfie—he's really, really cute!

Wisdom Teeth Removal

let's be honest, there's nothing wise about them
Wisdom teeth can be a pesky problem causing pain and many other issues such as infection, swelling, tooth decay or damage to neighbouring teeth and gums. Removal of troublesome wisdom teeth should be done as soon as possible—before the problems worsen.

Evaluation first
Generally, the procedure for wisdom tooth removal is no different to the extraction of other teeth. Depending on the severity of your case, the location, position and shape of the wisdom tooth, it may be removed in one piece or sectioned before removal.
After a thorough diagnosis and evaluation of your needs, we'll determine the complexity and discuss if the treatment would be best in the dental chair or under general anaesthetic. Should you need the latter, we can still assist, and our friendly team will help you organise it all from start to finish.

In complex cases or when removing multiple wisdom teeth, we often recommend having treatment under general anaesthetic. It's more comfortable and usually the preferred approach amongst patients.

Root Canal Treatment

Root canal treatment is often misunderstood by many patients and is perceived to be the most feared procedure.

Well, let us bust that myth for you right now!

Root canal has the reputation it has because patients who require this treatment usually have swollen nerves. Due to the swollen nature of the nerve, they tend to put up a short fight before they numb completely.
But once they do, the treatment is entirely pain-free.

Our dentists are incredibly gentle and walk you through the process step-by-step. We never rush and always ensure you're completely comfortable throughout your procedure. Root canal isn't anything to lose sleep over—in fact, our patients enjoy this time as a sneaky little day nap.

Reach out to our friendly team, and let's discuss your concerns.

When it's Emergency Dental you need, call us!

Got a toothache, facial swelling or broken tooth? Whatever your dental emergency is, we can help, and we'll do our very best to fit you in as quickly as possible
Need temporary relief fast? Our emergency dentists suggest the following tips:
Rinse with warm saltwater. Saltwater will loosen debris between your teeth, act as a disinfectant and reduce inflammation. Stir ½ a teaspoon of salt into a glass of lukewarm water and rinse your mouth thoroughly.
Rinse with hydrogen peroxide mouthwash. Hydrogen peroxide helps to reduce inflammation and pain. Dilute with equal parts water and rinse thoroughly. Don't swallow.
Cold compress. For swelling and pain, hold an ice compress wrapped in a clean towel to the painful area for 20-minute periods. Repeat every few hours.
Pain medications. Over the counter pain medications can help reduce pain and inflammation.
Avoid cold or hot temperatures with food and beverages.
